Our practice is deeply rooted in the belief that a parent’s wellbeing is of equal importance to their child’s. We take a holistic, intersectional approach to mental health, considering each client’s unique family history, experiences, and socio-cultural context.
What You'll Bring To The Practice:
We are open to receiving applications from Psychologists, Counsellors, and Mental Health Social Workers who resonate with our mission.
We have a particular focus on bringing on practitioners who as well as working with mothers, are:
a) able to provide medicare rebates,
b) work with couples, or
c) work with fathers
However we are open to receiving applications outside of these parameters too. Our team applies a neuroaffirming, human-centered, non-clinical approach, focusing on body-mind integration, parts work, and other evidence-based strategies to guide our clients toward healing. You will be working with mothers, fathers, or couples, depending on your preference. Your primary role will be to support parents using evidence-based strategies, helping them navigate the unique challenges of parenthood. We encourage you to bring your full, authentic self into your work, building genuine rapport and connection with clients. You can be located anywhere in Australia as sessions are delivered online, and will begin with one day per week to be increase over time and inline with your capacity and need.
Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality, neuroaffirming, human centered & evidence-based therapy and keep thorough case notes.
Maintain a commitment to ethical practice in all client interactions, ensuring confidentiality and professional integrity.
Provide ongoing support to clients in a private practice setting.
Manage your own working calendar and communication with clients after they book initial appointments.
Actively participate in building your professional profile and contributing to our practice’s growth and collective impact.
Maintain your professional registration.
Qualifications & Skills:
Active registration with AHPRA as a psychologist or clinical psychologist, or with your relevant board if you are a counsellor or mental health social worker. Counsellors must have completed a masters degree.
2+ years of clinical experience, some of which must be working with the perinatal population.
Registered with or ability to register with the Better Access program for Medicare rebates (not required for counsellors).
An understanding of attachment theory and its applications in the parenting space.
Training and experience in using IFS (Internal Family Systems) or parts work.
Experience with EMDR is desirable.
An understanding of the nervous system, and how it influences mental health/somatics is desirable.
